Two Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

This incident resulted in the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
